2025 Track Week 5 Boys: Injured Arrington, Jr., Reportedly Sidelined for Rest of Season
Brandon Arrington, Jr., Mount Miguel’s defending state 100 meters and 200 meters champion, will miss the San Diego Section finals and state meet, according to two media sources. Arrington sustained a leg muscle injury in the Grossmont League 4×100 relay at Mount Miguel May 9 and did not compete in the San Diego Section Division I final last week.
The Matadors’ junior attempted to continue after the Grossmont 4×100 relay, finished fourth in the 100 in :10.95, and was done for the evening. He is the state leader at :10.21 and :20.35 in the 100 and 200 and second in the country in the 200. Arrington ranks seventh in the U.S. in 100 races in which there were wind readings and automatic timing, according to athletic.net.
