Hi Rick, I’m writing to ask if you’d consider starting a medical GoFundMe account with a target amount of $5,000. I need a balloon stent in my LAD artery (Left Ascending Descending aka the widowmaker). I know it’s a Hail Mary but sadly, and perhaps pathetically, I have no family or close friends to pay for the procedure. I’m living month-to-month with my Vietnamese wife and stepdaughter in Danang. Sorry for posting here but I couldn’t find your contact page.
Howdy Rick, Mitch Lilly here, SD County basketball player of the year in 1977. You wrote a story about my twin brother and I a few years ago. I’m wondering if you’d consider starting a medical GoFundMe for me with a goal amount of $5,000. I need a balloon stent in my LAD artery (Lower Anterior Descending), AKA the widowmaker. Sadly, and perhaps pathetically, I’m living month-to-month in Danang, Vietnam with no family or close friends to pay for the procedure. I know it’s a Hail Mary, but it’s a life-and-death situation for me and I’d rather ask and be either ignored or told no than not asking at all. I hope this finds you well. Sorry for posting here but I couldn’t find your contact page. ~ Mitch
Mitch, perhaps you should try posting information and a request on Facebook or contacting administrative officials at your alma mater Madison High. You might also contact John Maffei, the prep writer at the San Diego Union-Tribune. I’m not going to be able to assist.
